Complete Dumpster Rental Guide
The first time renters guide.
Here's the situation: You have something that needs to go, that something is debris, waste, or just junk. How do you go about getting rid of that? Is a dumpster right for you? Read this and find out!
We need first to determine how much debris you have. Is it less than one pickup load? Will your curbside pickup take what you have?
If you answered no to both of these questions, then a dumpster rental from us may be the perfect solution for you. Some variables can help along the way with this process; let 's walk through them.
We have a handy guide here that will help you determine how much a dumpster can hold. This is a great place to start. If you are unsure, give us a call, and we will help you determine what will be the best size for you! Also check here for more visuals!
Now pick up that rotary, flip, or smartphone and give us a call! At this point, we can help you determine the size you need. After this we can set a date for delivery and get the ball rolling for you!
What is included with your dumpster rental?
Roll-off dumpsters are generally rentals. I'll give you a general rundown of how this works. When you rent a dumpster for us, you get it for 1-7 days initially. If you need it longer than the initial period, there is a per-day fee after the initial seven days.
Each dumpster has a set amount of weight included in the purchase price. When we dump your container, we are charged by the ton. If you exceed the included weight, Then you are charged a (per ton) fee over.
Be wary of companies that may charge a lower initial rate. Ask questions, find out how many tons are included, what the overage prices are, how much extra days are. Sometimes going with the lower initial price will cost you more in the long run! Also be sure to ask about special rates for clean fill loads (loads that only contain one thing and no other trash or waste) such as concrete, yard waste or shingles
What happens next?
Next is your delivery day! You want to ensure you are as prepared as possible. Make sure you have a location cleared for your container. You can mark or block off your area if you need to be precise! We take specific instructions from you so we know exactly where your container needs to be placed. This is important especially if you will not be on site for the delivery. If you would like to be onsite we have our drivers call you when they are on the way so you can meet them there!
If you are placing your container on the street in many cities you will need a right of way permit. The company delivering your dumpster can generally tell you this.
Taking care of these small details can save you time and money as well! Many companies charge a dry run fee if they arrive on site and the dumpster cannot be placed. So make sure you are ready!
Take my dumpster away!
The next part is easy! Fill up your dumpster and call your provider for a pickup! There are a few things to be wary of here as well, though. Ensure you follow the guidelines for what can and cannot be placed in your dumpster! Doing this can save you money and hassle as well. Many times the companies dumping your waste will be charged if there are prohibited items in the dumpster. These charges will be passed onto you!
There are ways to get rid of the items that are prohibited in your dumpster. You may even ask your dumpster provider as they deal with this quite often!
Check to make sure that your dumpster is not overfilled. Most providers mark their dumpsters with a fill line that you do not go over. If it is overloaded your driver may not be able to pick up the dumpster, and you could be charged extra fees.
Also make sure that the dumpster is not blocked in. Move any cars or other objects that may prohibit the driver from getting the dumpster.
We now offer Porta Potties as well! These are a great when you are doing a job where there may not be a working restroom and outdoor events!
